Sofia Drew is a student currently living in Tāmaki Makaurau. Her poems often morph into artworks, and her artworks often morph into poems; in any case, her writing stems from visual art. You can find Sofia’s poetry in Starling, Symposia, and in 2022 she was shortlisted for the National School’s Poetry Award.
‘Nasturtium Lilies’ (acrylic on canvas) first began as a colour palette. Sofia writes: ‘the primary focus of this work is not the subject matter but how the colours interact and create their own intensive visual rhythm.’
