‘Tension buildup / Friendship breakup’ (acrylic on recycled cotton) was created in 2023. Isla writes the piece is ‘a heartfelt abstraction of the anguish that comes with an explosive end to a friendship. Such moments don’t happen often but when they do, they erupt and spill into every corner of one’s life. This is a painting of heartbreak and tension, love and loss.’
